This album was recorded with the help of my friends Josh Pleeter and Kallie Lampel in the Poconos in late 2017, mixed and mastered a few years later, and now finally, released in 2021. These are the first "songs" (meaning, songs with vocals and rough rock band instrumentation) that I ever felt comfortable enough with to arrange into a small album tracklist. It's all pretty stripped down; electric guitar and bass, a Casio CZ-1 synthesizer, auxiliary percussion, drum machines (Korg Electribe ER-1 and Korg DDD-1), and vocals.
I hear this as a cold weather record, maybe you'll disagree. It was written mostly during cold isolated months living in Jersey City, when daily life was uncertain in a different sort of way than it is now in 2021 America. This music is about the past and the present, and gives little consideration to the future. So, without further ado, here ya go. Phlebotomists I.
